Another wind down in the setting sun…just a slightly smaller machine this time.

The NSW Police “Aviation Command” is more commonly known as PolAir, and provides aerial support to police across New South Wales.

The command utilises state of the art specialised technology such as rescue winches, Forward Looking Infra Red (FLIR), high definition video camera system, PA system, beam searchlights, downlinking of live video, digital radio systems and Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) navigation systems.

Its current fleet consists of five helicopters and three fixed wing aircraft. The command also maintain the fleet of NSW Police Force’s Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA).

Grae Photography visited Bankstown Helicopters on Friday afternoon to use our choppers in a photo shoot for some DJ’s and headphones adverts.

Amazing outcomes when professional photographers snap our choppers just standing still.

You see some strange things at Bankstown Airport. This would have to be one of the stranger, and definitely not for the faint of heart

Al Cohen had his third (3rd) successful wedding proposal in a Bankstown Helicopters chopper today with Spreets passenger Allan Le popping the question via a banner on the ground at Breakfast Point to his girl Susan Hanh. 

Allan taped a personal message to Susan that he played thru the headphones to her while she unknowingly watched the “Marry Me Susan” banner come into view as I slowed the chopper up over Breakfast Point.

Michael Bennett was also on board filming the whole flight so stay tuned for a video of the proposal. Makes the great job of flying just so much better
